Head of Finance & Resources

Help us build a fairer, more equal Sussex - and an efficient and sustainable organisation.

Head of Finance & Resources
Sussex Community Foundation
Permanent, full-time (35 hours) but four days per week will be considered.
Hybrid – based in Lewes at least 3 days per week.
Salary £40,000 to £44,680 dependent on experience.

Sussex Community Foundation is one of the fastest growing community foundations in the country. We give grants to grassroots charities across Sussex, reaching the charities that others cannot. We raise our funds by providing bespoke services to high net worth people and organisations to help them support their local communities and showing them the difference their donations make.

In the last three years we have given over £12 million in grants to charities that are helping people through crisis – from the Covid Pandemic to the Cost of Living Crisis. This has made a huge difference to people’s lives, but we also need to address the long-term challenges like climate change, poverty and disadvantage and inequality. We believe that small local charities have a vital role to play.

We have created this post of Head of Finance & Resources to help the Foundation to continue to grow and to become more efficient and effective. We are good at managing money, but we want to get better.  Your role will include leading a digital transformation of our office, finance and IT systems. This is a broad role in a small organisation so you will need to be involved in day-to-day tasks and problem solving as well as high level management and finance. Don’t worry if you can’t meet all the requirements of the job – if you are up for the challenge, we would love to hear from you.

We are a diverse and friendly team and will do our best to make sure everyone feels included. We welcome applications from everyone whatever your background. We believe everyone has a unique contribution to make.

For full details, please download the PDF information pack attached below.
