304 (Hastings) Squadron, Air Training Corps
The aims of the (RAF) Air Training Corps in Hastings (304 Squadron) are, broadly, threefold:
1. To promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people.
2. To provide training which will be useful in the Services and in civilian life
3. To encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
The cadets follow educational programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh award, and use the RAF's online system to carry out studies leading to qualifications such as the BTEC in Aviation. There are also outdoor and sporting activities to take part in which include Flying, Gliding, Parade Drills, Adventure Training and other activities at external Camps
