Little Gate Farm CIO
Little Gate Farm supports adults and children with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Our goal is to create new opportunities for paid work for people who are currently excluded from employment. We run 4 projects which take place at our 46-acre farm and in work places in the local area.
• Work Training for adults with Learning Disabilities (80 people each year)
• Supported Employment for adults with Learning Disabilities (12 people each year)
• Woodland Enterprise for adults with Learning Disabilities (10 people each year)
• Young Rangers Holiday Club for children and young people with Learning Disabilities (40 children each year)
We help marginalised people to develop new skills which promote confidence, enterprise and employment. By increasing independence among people with Learning Disabilities we help them to feel valued; we improve physical and mental health; we reduce dependence on social care and improve integration into the local community.
Although we are a local charity we are challenging the accepted thinking on employment opportunities for adults with Learning Disabilities & Autism.
