Hastings Area Community Trust (Relief)

We also operate under the name 'Relief' with our origins in 1890 and have taken this name from part of the original lengthy title! We have been in our current building since 1928. We shared a common history with HVA until 1998. Since 1890 we have been making grants to local people in relief of poverty. All applications must come through another agency such as the CAB or Homeworks. Most grants do not exceed £100 for a single person and £200 for a family.
We also provide accommodation for Counselling Plus Community, ETC Sussex and Sussex Housing Trust for the Elderly.
We supported the setting up of Hastings Pantry which helps people on low incomes access food. The Pantry is based at Dorset Place, next to Hastings Furniture Service and is currently open 12-2pm Fridays.
