Young Carers Counsellor (freelance)

4 counselling sessions per week, during term time
£40 per counselling session
Are you a qualified counsellor who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of young carers?
Care for the Carers is excited to launch Teen Talk, a new counselling service for 12-18 year-old carers. We are seeking to appoint two freelance Young Carers Counsellors to deliver after school counselling sessions in Hastings and Rother.
The successful applicants will have a minimum of 2 year’s post-qualification clinical experience, experience of working with children and young people, and an understanding of the potential impact of being a young carer on mental health and wellbeing.
The posts are subject to a DBS check. The posts are supported by BBC Children in Need.
Care for the Carers is committed to valuing diversity and is an equal opportunities employer. We have a number of measures in place to support the carers in its employment including carers leave. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented in our workforce.
There are approximately 66,000 unpaid carers in East Sussex, looking after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. Carers’ own health and wellbeing often suffers as a result of their caring role.
An Application Pack is available by clicking on the link: www.cftc.org.uk/work-with-us, or by calling Kirsty Hart on 01323 738390.
Closing date for applications is 9am on 6th September 2019. Interviews will be held w/c 16th September 2019.
