Let's Celebrate! Charities Fair

Celebrating HVA’s 30th year and showcasing the best of local charities, groups and volunteers. Please join us and promote your activities! As a local group or organisation you are invited to participate in this celebratory event with a display and activity promoting your work. This event will be FREE, family friendly and open to the public. There will be fun & entertainment from local groups. This is an opportunity to share information about your work, learn about a range of services that are delivered in Hastings, browse the marketplace, and network with a mixture of people from the voluntary, statutory and independent sectors. You will also have the chance to hear about the Levelling Up Partnerships Programme that will be set up to deliver a tailored approach to place-based working with key partners to understand the challenges and opportunities Hastings and St Leonards faces and then to identify practical actions to bring about change. • To give practical guidance on professional boundaries
• To appreciate the difference between friendship and supporting someone as a volunteer
• To explore the difference between professional, personal, legislative and policies or codes of conduct in relation to volunteers

HVA would like to invite you to a 4-hour workshop designed to raise awareness of common mental health issues, an overview of what support is available and how to navigate the local mental health system.
The workshop will consist of:
• A look at how common Mental Health issues develop
• An overview of some common conditions
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Psychosis
• Personality disorders/ Complex Trauma
• Self- harm and other expressions of distress
• Where to get help if someone is suicidal
• An overview of the local Mental health system and supports
• An interactive discussion about experiences
• Managing your own wellbeing
You will receive a workshop pack including a list of useful contacts and resources.
